Year by year, the earth will remain in constant change, and one of them is the species that will live on Earth. Wonder why legendary stories or folklore started?
I’ll tell you a story about a skilled samurai who was killed during the Last Battle in Kyoto.Katsuo Yoshitsune was born in Kyoto in 1159 to his parents, whom he never knew because apparently they died. He was taken care of by his uncle, who was also a samurai (gokenin) and taught him to haunt, involve himself in the human world, and fight like a samurai. This uncle died when he was already a young adult, hence doing a job that can put his martial arts and swordsmanship skills to use as a daimyo to the imperial lords. Though the consequences were quite hard for the samurai at first, every time they had a mission to eliminate someone, he would slay them with a sword, drink their blood, and eat their flesh. This kind of killing method gave him the power to lead his men. Being surrounded by humans, he cannot contain his hunger and thirst. However, before he turned 30, he got married to one of the princess's ladies-in-waiting and had a son with her. This son, fortunately, did not inherit his powers.Until the battle in Kyoto, when everyone was having a midday nap, a group of rebels attacked the Imperial Palace with their modern weapons. A lot of the samurai weren’t able to fight back and got killed. Out of frustration and panic, Yoshitsune unraveled who he was. He began attacking the rebels by consuming their flesh and blood. However, because of the modern weapons, he was shot in the neck, causing him to fall down.Yoshitsune, who took an oath to protect the Imperial Court, his men, and his people, fought back despite his injuries. Luck wasn’t on his side. He was then slayed by his own sword. His last words were “My people, my men, my lord. I apologized; I wasn’t able to do my duty. I’ll be back to avenge you all.
